The Chevrolet Silverado is the latest full-size pickup truck from General Motors, along with its GMC counterpart, the Sierra. The Silverado is the second-best selling vehicle in the United States, next to the Ford F-150 pickup, as of 2006.

History

From 1975 to 1999, a Silverado was a Chevy truck with the best packages for trim. The name was then followed by a C or K, with the latter meaning that was rear-wheel drive, and the former meaning it was four-wheel drive. Now Silverado is used for all the versions of the popular pickup.
