Summary

The Dodge Dakota has been Dodge's midsize pickup since 1987. It is bigger than the Ranger and the S-10, but also smaller than the Dodge Ram, the F-150, and the Silverado. But it has also been the only midsize pickup that comes with an optional V8.

History

The Dodge Dakota was released in 1987, the same year that Dodge released the new Dodge Ram 50. In 2000, the Dakota earned a nomination as the North American Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
