The F150 is the best-selling truck in Ford's popular F-series line of full-sized trucks. The F-series celebrated its 28th consecutive year as the best-selling truck in the US in 2005, and has been the best selling line of trucks in the world for at least 23 years. Ford sold more than 9 million F-series trucks in 2004 alone, making it the vehicle with the all-time record for the best single-year sales.

History

The first Ford F-series was introduced in 1948, and enthusiasts have identified 10 distinct generations of the F-series since then. The most recent generation was released in 2004.

Specifications

Seating: The regular cab version of the F150 can seat 3 passengers. Ford also makes a SuperCab and a SuperCrew version that can seat 6.

Gas Mileage: The truck gets about 12 miles per gallon in the city and 16 miles per gallon on the highway.

Safety Rating: The F150 gets the maximum rating of 5 stars for frontal collision tests on both the driver and passenger sides, and 4 stars for its safety performance during a rollover. F150 models manufactured between 1997-2003 received a "Poor" rating in crash tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Warranty
