Profile of the Nissan Frontier

Nissan Frontier Truck

Summary

US consumers who are drawn to Japanese pickup trucks feel that the vehicles handle well, maintain their resale value, and have a reasonable price tag. The Nissan Frontier fits that bill. The Frontier debuted in 1998 and continues to evolve. The 2007 model year brings the most powerful and roomiest model yet.

History

The first Nissan truck debuted under the Datsun brand in the US in 1959. The name was changed to the Nissan Frontier in 1998. The Frontier was redesigned in 2001 with a flashier look and more powerful engine, and in 2005 the Frontier joined the ranks of larger mid-size pick-ups.
